About the Champagnat Day Challenge

History

In 2018, the Champagnat Day Challenge will be in its twelfth year.  It is a very exciting tournament and because it is played to a knock-out format, it often produces drama and upsets.

Tournament structure 

  • The tournament is played in class groups  

  • There is only space for eight teams per class group  

  • The boys select their own teams, sometimes with a little help from the teachers in the case of the younger boys

 

Rules

  • 6 players on the field at a time

  • Rolling substitution

  • 15 minutes one way

  • Drawn matches are decided by empty goal penalties-sudden death


​Cost

R 50 per player but any donations would be greatly appreciated
